Why did you become a personal trainer?

I became a personal trainer because I have a passion for fitness and I had been teaching classes for a few years before I got my training cert. A large amount of my students wanted to work with me outside of class, so I went ahead and got certified and have been training ever since! I love fitness and working with people, and now all my clients have turned into close friends. I feel very lucky to get to work with my friends everyday.

What is your go to exercise and why?

My go to exercise is uphill running, for example, Runyon canyon, or running up stairs, like the Santa Monica stairs. I’ll stop and do HIIT circuits multiple times throughout the run to make it a full body workout. Working out outdoors is key for me to clear my mind, I need at least 4 outdoor workouts a week to keep a calm/clear/focused mind. I’ve done this my whole life and the uphill aspect makes it the perfect way to lift, tighten and tone your glutes and hamstrings as well! That’s a huge plus!

What is your go to meal and why?

My go to meal is my favorite salad from Trader Joe’s. I’m addicted to it. It has Kale, spinach, artichokes, sweet potatoes, pecans and cranberries and I add in an avocado. It’s fast, easy and I never get tired of it! My go to snacks are sugar snap peas, cashews, and broccoli and cauliflower with healthy dips from the farmers market! If I have time to make something I’ll go for a filet of mahi-mahi or salmon with lots of steamed veggies and a side salad. My favorite food is guacamole!!!

What is your favorite song to workout to?

My favorite song to workout to would have to be Back that Azz Up by Juvenile. Ever since it came out, when I was little, it’s always gotten me in workout mode right away! It starts slower and then the beat drops and it has a perfect workout rhythm to keep you going strong! And who doesn’t love to back that ass up whenever they can!?
